  “ Because it's so important for local bird owners to be able to find other bird owners. I belong to 2 other online parrot groups, but only 2 people in these groups live in Ohio, and both of them are about 80 miles away. (One in Cincinnati, and another up toward Toledo.) We (meetup people)can refer each other to local merchandisers, local vets, and local toy makers. And the meetups are great. I love talking "birds", and no one I know wants to hear much about mine. But other bird people will chat with you for an hour about the birds. It's just what we need from time to time. ”

• “ really good information isn't there. Most postings are from the meetup owners and not the members. Well, there is some information but you have to dig for it. Maybe if they organized the site so that we could get and discuss the information we are looking for. I get a great amount of wonderful information from BirdChannel.com and seems I can access good specific information very easily from that site. ”
